Park Si-hoo embarked on his entertainment career as a stage actor and underwear model, and then he made his official television debut in 2005. After more than a few years in supporting roles, in 2010 Park rose to stardom with the popular romantic comedy series Queen of Reversals and Prosecutor Princess. This was followed by leading roles in period drama The Princess’ Man (2011) and thriller film Confession of Murder (2012). In 2013, Park’s career was rocked by allegations of sexual assault, but the charges were later dropped.
In 1997 Park Si-hoo started his acting career in theater, putting up posters, handing out flyers, and appearing as an extra or in bit parts on stage, leading to his acting debut in the play The Twelve Nyang Life. Through this time, he also worked as an underwear model, earlier than being cast in a bit part in episodes 1 and 2 of 2005 television series Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang.
Underneath the stage name Park Si-hoo (his original name is Park Pyeong-ho), he even started in supporting roles in the TV series Let’s Get Married and Which Star Are You From?. In 2007 he even appeared on How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor, and he gained more recognition and won the New Star Award at the SBS Drama Awards that year. He even handle more high-profile roles in action adventure series Iljimae and weekend drama Family’s Honor (the latter, his first leading role) followed in 2008.
Park’s breakthrough came in 2010 in his character as the mysterious lawyer Seo In-woo in Prosecutor Princess. And such was his popularity with audiences in Queen of Reversals that when the series was extended.
He sustained his accomplishment in acting in 2011 with the Joseon period drama ratings hit The Princess’ Man.
2012 was a remarkable year for him, since Park played his first big-screen leading role as a serial killer-turned-bestselling author in the film Confession of Murder. He did return to small screen later that year in the romance drama Cheongdam-dong Alice.
From stillness due to the prior issue so much awaits his comeback, Park was reportedly considering taking on the leading role in 2014 series Golden Cross. In the meantime he focused on overseas activities, holding a photo exhibition in Japan titled The Man Who Was There, and signing on to star in Chinese film Fragrant Scent, to be directed by Jessey Tsang Tsui-Shan.
Being a Korean actor comes with a big responsibility. Korean Stars, not only Park Si-hoo suffered from traumatic issues. But then initially they redirect their career to another outlet. Still Park Si-hoo took managed of his career and keeps on moving forward.
In the other side of the Hallyu/Korean wave it shows that no matter what happens to any Hallyu star, the fans are still there through ups and downs to their idols. That’s the big impact of the Hallyu trend would bring to uplift Korean Dramas and Korean Stars in any side of their career. Korean fever was irrevocable. It is surprising to imagine that people would actually rely this. Very well said that Korean wave was acceptable by the people in our day.
